The Roost, our ninety year old chicken house which once held 1000 hens, now gracefully offers itself to groups and individuals desiring quality space for retreats, meetings, family gatherings - whatever!
The large "Gathering Room" comfortably holds twenty, and the golden wood floor and large east windows overlooking the prairie create an ambiance of comfort and beauty touched by stories of former days. A microwave and small refrigerator are available for your use, as are tables, chairs, and rocking chairs. An antique chicken nest is filled with art supplies to salve your creative urges. The coffee pot is always on, and the cookie jar is always filled.
The smaller "Setting Room," furnished like a comfy family room with a gas stove, overstuffed couch and chair, and farmhouse table, is perfect for smaller groups - up to about twelve.
There are two almost identical "Nests" for those wishing space for an overnight retreat. Each "Nest" is furnished with a twin-size bed. The couch in the "Setting Room" does fold out into a bed for extra sleeping space.
The Roost may be used by groups or by individuals on retreat. For more information and rates for group use of the Roost, please click here. For information and rates for personal day and overnight retreats, please click here.
