Tonight the moon was full, and glistened over the curling waves of the Caribbean Sea. The light glowing through the nearby clouds was a rich, dark blue, and the leaves of the palm trees were sharply outlined against the luminescent sky. “What?” you say? “This doesn’t sound like Iowa, Toto!”
You’re absolutely right. It ISN’T Iowa, and it isn’t my usual path....
And yet, that wonderful, glorious, smiling orb in the sky is absolutely the same one I’d be gazing at from the path of the prairie labyrinth back home in central Iowa. Oh, it might not be as high in the sky in Iowa, and the stars are oriented a little differently, and I’m wearing shorts and mosquito repellent instead of my anorak and heavy boots. But...same, it is!
Awesome, isn’t it?
Knowing that my Soul Sisters back in Iowa are gazing at the same full moon tonight as I am - thousands of miles away - helps me understand how small the world is and how connected we all are. Looking at the moon together in this way brings our hearts into the same light - dusted space, and holds them in the circle of love we share when physically together.
Imagine what might be if all the peoples of the world paused every full moon to gaze at it and send words of love and healing to all, while soaking in the loving smile and kindness of its face. Like forming one giant circle of Love around the world. Just imagine...
You'll find me gazing at the full moon each month with my heart wide-open, sending prayers of healing to the world - will you join me in this circle of love?
